Texas born and raised, bilingual singer/songwriter Lisa Montes grew up with a passion for the arts and creativity. Singing was always a dream, but dancing took center stage during her childhood and college years. In the years immediately following college, with a minor in dance, Lisa became a regular performer in San Francisco Bay Area jazz and modern dance companies, and gained professional experience performing to diverse audiences.

When a sudden foot injury interrupted Lisa’s dancing -- Lisa decided to change creative directions and listened to the calling for music she had had since childhood. With determination and an unstoppable will to follow her dream, Lisa took the leap of faith and began her musical journey into the world of singing and song writing,

Her first years were spent studying both crafts, getting involved in local song writing organizations and artist events, and participating in performance and writing opportunities that helped her to grow in skill and experience. Lisa quickly realized her heart was in music and she had found her creative home.

 

Since taking the leap, Lisa Montes has become an accomplished songwriter, formed the “Lisa Montes Band” and participated in open mics, vocal competitions, and performances at local coffee houses, pubs, bars and festivals throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. She has received several performance and song writing awards, and won the hearts of fans with her powerful voice, heartfelt lyrics, and her ability to connect with her audience.

 

Lisa’s most recent accomplishment is the release of her debut CD “Wildfire” -- where Lisa wrote and performed all ten songs on the album. A reflection of her Texas and southwestern upbringing, the songs of “Wildfire” are rooted in country, blending flavors of blues, pop and Latin influences.
